Cases are going up here in Austin, possibly because of reopening, or mass gatherings like protests, but from a pure numbers standpoint are nowhere near other states’ levels—our highest daily case number is 161 (check the data out here). I’m continuing to be cautious but practical. I also spent the last 10 days on a road trip, crossing three other states and peeing by the side of the road so as to avoid gas station bathrooms… TMI? Nonetheless, here’s what’s keeping me covidtained…
Workouts
- This article is why I think Power Athlete is some of the smartest strength & conditioning programming in the whole world. Goal-oriented and practical approaches to training is the secret sauce.
- While staying with my bestie, I used her Peloton every single day. I hate spin, but it was so damn convenient, and I did a ride as short as 20 minutes. There’s a lot to be said for not having to decide what your workout is going to be. The MAC is now looking to invest in a Peloton…
- Because Third Monkey is over, I’ve faced this challenge of deciding my workout more the past couple of weeks. HPG is open but requiring masks while you work out which the owner addresses here, and is valid, but I don’t want to do it. So I need some strength/cardio to complement my regular yoga. I don’t have the answer yet.
Entertainment
- Insecure on HBO! My road trip hosts had HBO so I binged all of Season 4 one day. I looooove that show.
- Physical distance but make it awesome: Bike the Circuit of the Americas track.
- Art resources… even if you’re not an “artiste” these are awesome to peruse.
Therapy Thursday
- Read this whole post and make your life better.
- To give is to receive. To receive is to give.
- Lots of posts floating around about supporting black-owned businesses and the BLM movement. This list is the first I’ve seen of black creative professionals.
- @jtype took an incredible photo of Congress Ave in Austin.
Ecomm / Feed Me
- Spread & Co “Essentials” bag has everything I need for a good time… a bottle of wine, 8 oz chocolate chunk cookie dough, 3 cheeses, a sourdough boule and ANDERSON’S COFFEE which I still cannot pick up from their store which drives me crazy. $70 (the math checks out…)
- Paula’s Choice anniversary sale is on! 20% off + gifts at $75 & $125 levels. The SPF 30 primer is my daily sunscreen and the Unscrub my daily face wash.
- Need activewear with pockets? I do, for daily dog walks. If you haven’t tried Senita yet, here’s a 10% off code.
Week 13 skipped (it’s unlucky anyway). Week 12 (not really about Covid). Week 11. Week 10. Week 9. Week 8. Week 7. Week 6. Week 5 here. Week 4 here. Week 3’s here. Week 2’s here. There is no Week 1 because we didn’t know back then.
PLUS! A late addition: buy this mask to support Covid and prison reform.
