I literally cannot think of anything cooler than competing in a lifting (cough, cough CrossFit style) competition ON THE BEACH. A lifting comp on the beach! Badges for Life is a new competition in Southern California on the beach in Huntington Beach. Epic pictures. And that’s why we all compete, right? #abzzzz
Formed by a group of athletes with backgrounds ranging across police, fire, CrossFit Football, Power Athlete, and the NFL, the three-event competition has been designed to test you physically and emotionally. The workouts remain a mystery until the day of the event. Teams are made up of 4: 2 dudes, 2 girls. There are three divisions: scaled, RX (comfortable moving heavy loads and completing technical and gymnastics movements) and Badges for Life BADASS (affiliated with a police, fire or armed forces unit/department aka civil servants).
May 17, 7am – 6pm
Registration is $295/team ($73.75/person) and benefits two groups: the Huntington Beach Police Officers Widows and Orphans Fund, where funds go directly towards supporting families of officers injured or killed in the line of duty; and Wade’s Army, where funds support research and aiding children who are fighting a devastating form of pediatric cancer called Neuroblastoma.
Seriously, if you’re in SoCal, you gotta compete (like a celeb?)!
