It wasn’t the most amount of money raised for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Backyard Ball 2019 out of all the Austin’s Finest honorees, but I am so impressed and amazed by the generous support of my friends and fam (and Tenchi One Martials Arts)!
Last night was the big event, and I felt so loved and honored. It finally feels like community in Austin, not just random assortments of friends (though, that was really what it was at the event!) with my family combined in. It’s been hard to feel connected to the city that was always my home but has changed so much, and last night gave me a little anchor in a suddenly-big town.
Of course, Backyard Ball wasn’t my only party commitment this week—a couple of boy birthday bashes at Tanuki (one was CASUAL), one hilarious impromptu girls night, and a celebratory pizza dinner rounded out an absolutely insane week.
Which doesn’t even cover the intensity of my work week. Bottom line? I’ll be hiding this weekend, so if you need me … find me next week.

I finally got to try this natural cult-favorite label wine I’ve been lusting after and trying to hunt down called The Marigny at Salt & Time—OMG. The 2015 Pinot is insane and sold out everywhere online. You can still snag other varietals, though, and rumor has it, they have a few bottles over at Better Half. And that was 3-in-1, friends.
