I publicly declared my commitent to doing the .com workouts on a rest day. Yesterday, the workout was right in the arsenal for the gym I go to:
WEDNESDAY 110511
Five rounds for time of:
135 pound Overhead squat, 5 reps
10 Toes to bar
40 pound dumbbell Hang squat clean, 15 reps
20 Double-unders
Kristan Clever did it at men’s weight in 14:04, I did it at women’s weight in 19:28. I have some catching up to do…
BUT today we ran into the issues with the gym. Not insurmountable, but:
THURSDAY 110512
Complete as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes of:
Run 400 meters
7 Muscle-ups
My gym has neither track nor rings, though it has a treadmill and I can’t do muscle-ups anyways. In a throwback to the Gold’s Gym days when I first started CrossFitting and would do workouts in the downstairs dungeon of the downtown Gold’s, I ran my 400m on the treadmill, then went to the rickety, unstable bar for strict chinups (2x) and then strict dips (2x). I only got 2 rounds and 1 run in—need arm strength stat!
Thank goodness I had the interwebs to hold me accountable. Otherwise, I definitely would have skipped out on this WOD when it so obviously addresses areas I need to improve!!
