I mean, it’s perfect.
I debated what to do with this kitchen alcove/nook, but making it a coffee bar was definitely the right move. Thanks in no small part to the most amazing, badass, delicious drip coffee maker of ever, that I just got after coveting my facebook girlfriend for life’s for years…
It’s the Zojirushi 10-Cup and the thing that makes it so amazing is the stainless steel carafe that keeps coffee hot for, like, ever. I knew this because fbgf gets up at least 2 hours before I do no matter what time zone we’re in, and my coffee is still piping hot when she makes it. This coffee brews on a timer and let me tell you, waking up to brewed coffee is the most magical feeling in the whole world. What technological sorcery allows me this joy?! Modern life is great.
Anyway, with the carafe you can have your first cup at 8am (remember, 2 hours after fbgf) and literally have another at 2pm that’s still steaming hot. It’s ridiculous. Yes, I’m addicted to coffee and I love it and have no intention of changing my ways.
Technically, the bar is my coffee and wine bar—all the vices.
Getting my house put together and organized has been all-consuming this week, but it’s been fun. And now that everything is sorted, it’s time for the really fun part: furniture shopping!
I am so grateful for this house. I am so grateful for getting to furnish it from scratch and make it perfect and mine. And I am so grateful I found the perfect piece on sale at Costco to turn this coffee & wine bar from concept into reality. Now to just get that TV mounted …
