Happy Inauguration Day.
Appreciating Dr. Mercola’s Perspective on the Covid-19 Vaccine.
Entertainment
- Sacks and the City podcast episode 21
- One of the funniest poop stories I have ever heard in my entire life is told on a podcast I love but don’t listen to regularly, U Up? Podcast (~min 35). They also interview James Lafferty, my forever crush since One Tree Hill, about his new show that I need to watch, Everyone is Doing Great.
- One of my favorite parts of traveling is reading on airplanes. Rarely do I have that much uninterrupted reading time in my real life, so airplane time is sacred time. I had too much work to do during last weekend’s trip, so I worked instead of reading, which was a real bummer. My next trip, I’m recommitting to my reading time!
Fitness
- A trail from Austin to San Antonio? Can I through-hike it? Great Springs Project.
- Found a new spot in my house to practice yoga: the kitchen. Wood floors, well lit … seems yoga-y!
Booze Me
- Yuengling is coming to Austin! I remember the first time I ever went to the East Coast and drank this beer (think if Lone Star wore lobster-embroidered shorts and boat shoes), and tried to find it for years afterward only to be told they’d never distribute west of the Mississippi…
- Wildfires in wine country have been too common in the last couple of years. Check out this interesting commentary on “smoke taint” in wine from my favorite wine blogger.
- Brilliant idea: pay a man on TaskRabbit to hold down a table at the Packers bar where you want to watch a football game. Doing that this Sunday.
Shop, Shoppin’ away…
- My favorite baselayer for skiing, a Patagonia merino wool henley, is definitely showing its age, but Patagonia only made that style for one season! So I’m cruising Worn Wear hoping someone sends one in.
