O rly? Lockdowns are scientifically ineffective. And have disastrous economic ramifications.
There are all sorts of things to care about right now. One that feels “smaller” in significance compared to, well, anything else in our dumpster fire country is Austin’s banned camping ban (double negative: homeless or really any people can currently camp wherever they want). I support banning camping, and the organization working tirelessly to put it up to vote again, if aggrandizing-ly named Save Austin Now, is bipartisan.
Entertainment
- Sacks and the City podcast episode 20
- If you watched Selling Sunset, the mega-house they sold has nothing on The One.
Fitness
- Love item 5 in John’s annual list. Just sprint.
- Get 50% off your first month of BFree’s digital studio with code LOVE50. I’m not saying you can yoga with me live every Wednesday night, but … pretty much you can yoga with me live every Wednesday night.

- Want to support a local Austin restaurant directly, but still not have to move from your couch? do512 has a “restaurants with their own delivery” list for you.
- Trader Joe’s released an almond flour cookie mix awhile back, but I was reminded again how good it is when I made a batch the other night. I swap a scoop of protein powder for the mix with no noticeable texture or flavor change. At 10 cookies, it adds 2g protein per cookie!
Shop, Shoppin’ away…
- I have really tried to avoid buying masks. But I took this “free” Soul Mask offer, just pay $6.50 shipping. Then again, it’s still not here yet so maybe you get what you pay for 😉
- I wore colored contacts for my New Year’s Eve outfit and loved it—and wore them again randomly on Saturday. I’ve never worn contacts before so there was a definite learning curve, but so far I’m very happy with the non-prescription colored contacts I ordered here.
