I agreed to do a Whole30 with a couple of friends.
I volunteered, if we’re being honest. Why not? I was feeling less in shape after some very boozy pre-holidays and still searching for the next thing to be training for, so it seemed like a reasonable way to kickstart myself while figuring out what the eff I wanna do for training.
Today is Day 6.
Last time I did it, we launched The Label Say Paleo blog, and it was fun, but it certainly wasn’t life-changing. It hasn’t been this time around either, but there’s still time.
And mostly, it’s just fun. It’s fun to challenge yourself, it’s fun to get out of routines and break habits, it’s fun to change the way you’re doing things.
Of course, there are times when you’re at Slater’s 50/50 after playing pickup basketball and the only place they’re serving is literally at the bar so you sit there and order burgers and water while wanting sweet potato fries, vampire dip, and a Ben & Jerry’s beer, so you name your bun-less burger funny anti-paleo things, eat your delicious grass-fed burgers, and go on your merry way.
I’m grateful for the challenge, the accountability, and the friends.
No booze, no sugar, no dairy (cheese!!!), no grains? No problem.
