I love funny friends. I received this one word text twice last weekend; the second time was the hilarious one.
we did “afternoon drinks?” instead 😉
OMG y’all.
I AM DONE WORKING UNTIL APRIL 1!
It hasn’t really sunk in yet – there was SO much to do to get my team ready and make sure absolutely nothing falls through the cracks while I’m gone and that my team is emotionally ready to fight the battles I try to fight for them. Now, though, I can focus on the thousands of last-minute things I need to do for the wedding: playlists, ceremony planning, writing my vows (!!), buying alllll the booze (and NA drinks too), picking up snacks for the cabins, planning transportation … and there are a few other surprise things I need to do that I can’t publish on the blog or else the readers who are attending won’t be surprised!
Needless to say, I am beyond grateful my company and boss let me take three weeks off to prep for the four-day wedding and two-week honeymoon. It’s going to fly by, and I can’t wait.
I am also grateful for the invite to a tasting event we went to last night, where I drank way too many tiny margaritas from Simar, a new-to-me (2022) coastal Mexican restaurant that I *will* eat at this weekend, as the tiny taco was ridiculously good and the margaritas perfectly balanced. The event itself was exceptionally well-run, obviously thanks to my friend’s involvement! I always love a nostalgic look back into the magazine days of yore, when events like this were commonplace in my weeks.
Very grateful for Armstrong’s House of Vintage, a new store on 35th Street, where I sourced this showstopping $40 dress. Owner Allison Armstrong is extremely knowledgeable and sweet as can be—and as such, an incredibly effective saleswoman.
Per usual, grateful for my Bobby boy. He’s just the best comfort during frustrating moments of the day or after a long one, and he’s been doing really, really well on our morning walks, allowing us to walk longer! Super grateful for that.
Grateful for so much more… grateful for my team’s support and excitement for me. Grateful for my friends doing their due diligence for my glam: modeling their own makeup after my pinterest board, asking their blowout salon for tips on my hair type … feeling so loved, and we’re not even at the wedding yet. Grateful for anticipation of the next couple of weeks. Grateful for my family, for pop-bys, for facetimes—late night and otherwise—grateful for, best for last, my fiancé. I am so lucky.
