When I launched DailyHap, I gave myself the title of Boss, Badass of Site & Strategy. Who knew that many years later someone else would name me something similar?! I’m taking another Boss title, for an established company rather than my own: Director (Badass) of Strategy & Solutions.
I’m moving on from Alorica, where I spent three amazing years learning, growing, transitioning, and strengthening. I’m leaving behind one of the best teams I’ve ever worked on and some of the brightest people I’ve known. The good news is there are lots of amazing teams and bright people!
I’m ready for it. But the new gig has also brought with it a host of surprising emotions I didn’t even know I had: and the worst part is, it’s not of the “can I do this?” variety, which you might think would spring up. Because I know I can even if it’s scary and feels like a reach—it should feel like that because that’s what pushing your edge feels like. No, the emotions are around this are of the bullshit “do I deserve this?” variety, which I think is fueled in part by this cultural question around privilege and hard work and where they intersect. Of course I deserve it, and deserve doesn’t mean anything.
So then what? I haven’t figured it all out.
It is beyond exciting, though, to be embarking on this new adventure!
