There are friends that are just soul friends. Friends you’d do anything for, time be damned. I was lucky enough to spend just an afternoon with one of those a week ago, a twin flame I hadn’t seen in person in five years, and it was just magic. Fulfilling, busy, and not enough time.
Then I finally got my season-long winter wish last weekend: sunshine and blue sky skiing. Warm, easy runs at Loveland and A-Basin really filled me up with joy and a reminder of just why I love skiing so damn much. We got parking magic and surprise slopeside concerts and stunning vistas. It’s just the best.
And just like that, February has come and gone, and with that we’re into spring! Season of change, I suppose, with the weather going back and forth and people making moves. Grateful for:
CHANGE We had a proper sendoff with a beloved couple friend, who brought their puppy over to share tug of war ropes with Bob to great success, and we already miss them as they get settled in Kentucky—more places for us to visit!
CONSISTENCY I did some good yoga classes (with a free Kari Traa top! such cute winter stuff) and of course with Shelby in a beautiful venue at the Carpenter.
CHANGE Found a new brow gal via classpass and loved her brow lamination.
CONSISTENCY We travel so much sometimes it’s easy to forget just how much I love my neighborhood in Austin. Bare feet in the grass on the island with the swingset with my nephew and niece, gorgeous trees throughout the neighborhood, great restaurants in walking distance. It’s pretty awesome.
Indeed, there are many other changes happening this season, and I will be growing for it.
Lastly, I heard this song and immediately tried to google how they created it*. I love it, but I love anything DMX.

*DMX died the day before I was supposed to see him in concert, which is sad for me but obviously way worse for him and his family. Nonetheless, a sadness in my life that I never got to see one of my favorite artists in person.
