Or, the random thing I labeled this FGF long before I sat down to write it. And to be fair, I love bike commuting. To happy hour, to volleyball, to the gym, to anywhere, it makes me so happy to be outside and NOT in a car! I am so grateful for Shoal Creek trail and the Town Lake hike and bike trail and the bike lanes (there should be more) and my trusty Gary Fisher steed. I bike commuted a fair amount last week, and am headed off to do so tonight to get to my volleyball league across town in traffic (who starts a league at 6pm on Friday?!).
It’s been … a week—I wanted to say awesome, but I’ve also been more tired than usual and can’t really pinpoint why. Saturday’s ATX Sports Mad Hatter blind draw fours tournament was a blast, and Saturday night’s Hollaween party was stellar. I started a yoga challenge, and got to attend two Buti yoga classes. I built an impossible but badass nightstand with so many parts it used 3/4 of the alphabet (when you have a part bag labeled ‘O’, you know you’re in trouble!!) I had wine with my mom and relaxed. So the fatigue has to be mental, then, right?
Yoga Challenge: I’m two days in (although +2 before the challenge started!) to BFree Yoga‘s Happy Body Happy Mind 21 Day Challenge, meant to encourage both practice and meditation. Committing to daily practice likely means lifting will be taking a 3-week break, and there will be a few days I need to double up yoga to account for some travel, but I am still excited to “cleanse” or refresh my body and yoga practice (I was feeling adrift).
(It is possible that I am always feeling adrift)
Nonetheless, I am grateful for my home, my family, my life.
Also, complete sidebar: Girlfriend Collective, that company that gave out free leggings to launch their company a couple years ago, just released a referral code—$10 off $95 with this link. I’m constantly surprised by how often I pull out my free pair, they’re higher rise than most, have no logo which is nice, and are a bit shinier and more compressive (but not muffin-top-y) than a lot of my leggings. Perfect for looking dressed up when you’re not (which I am very good at, post coming soon).
