The whole fam is headed up to Colorado for my mom’s belated 70th birthday celebration, and our flights are delayed—on two different airlines! Summer in the mountains.
But! I’m grateful we’re going, and this is just an inevitable part of travel.
In a short week with a weird Wednesday holiday from work, nothing has gone the way I planned, the holiday or any of the trips I had planned for the next couple of weeks. I had to change this one, the return to travel for a work event. My lovely husband’s impending bicep surgery is jamming up my 4th of July roadtrip plans.
But! This too is an inevitable part of travel, and I am so grateful I have the experience and attitude to handle these changes with aplomb.
I’m grateful, forever, to Blue Moon K9.
Which reminds me! Of the amazing activities I did last week, the feel good FRIDAY that I posted ON TIME didn’t capture the amazing cooking class date we went on, meeting three other couples all of whom we LOVED and went out with us afterward! (they had dogs, and we referred them to Jessica/BMK9 obviously) It was just so COOL to meet likeminded people, have great conversation, and make and share good food. I wouldn’t say I learned anything new about cooking, but that’s not always the point.
And then a one-year-old’s birthday party that was hot but delightful mainly because how could you not love a niece’s smile or the laughter as your nephew has you chase him in 98-degree weather, dripping sweat at a nice event where you’ve also gotten to catch up with a childhood friend and HIS kiddo?!
And then and then rugby (friend) Saturday was one for the books (not just for the aforementioned bicep tear but for): cowboy pool time, walks to the start of it all (crutches bumble date at Back Lot Bar), delicious dinner, hilarious trunks-and-a-post-it on the front door followed by more cowboy pool time, and lots of laughs and love.
Followed then by a day celebrating my wonderful dad with his singular Father’s Day request: caesar salad + steak! Can do.
It was a great weekend followed by a great week. And for that, I am eternally grateful.
