Not as deadly as it look, beer die is actually a drinking game played with a die. The rules from Realbeer.com vary a little bit from the way my friends played on Sunday night (Monday was Memorial Day, after all), but the principle is the same. Warning: they say it’s a man’s game, and while that offends the sensibilities of my liberated soul, I do kind of agree. Mainly because it’s boring and you drink A LOT of beer during it.
Basically, two teams of two sit on opposite ends of a ping-pong table, throw a die underhand over the net and try to land it into one of the two cups on the other side, once in front of each opposing player. If the die hits the table, the opposing team must catch it or they must sip their beer. Except that: a team has five missed catches to finish a beer. So if they don’t want to sip after the miss, that’s fine, but by the fifth miss, they must finish it, even if it means they chug the entire beer. A die in the cup is an automatic finish of the beer. A team wins after five die in the cup? I don’t even know how a team wins. It has something to do with finishing five beers. Maybe that’s how a team loses.
Why am I even posting about this, if I don’t even know or can’t explain all the rules?! Maybe you’d like to make it up from here … I just thought I had seen most drinking games in college, but have been surprised to come across two (Polish Horseshoes) that I hadn’t experience before.
