Austin Under 40 Awards (Au40)

The 11th Annual Austin Under 40 Awards (Au40) will be held on February 27, 2009 at Austin Music Hall. The annual event honors individuals in the Austin community who consistently demonstrate professional excellence as well as leadership, commitment and service to the community. The group is taking nominations through January 16, so nominate someone awesome under 40 today!

There will also be a final Au40 happy hour at the Paggi House from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, January 14th, but more details and an RSVP are coming later.

An award is given for each of the following categories:

* Arts/Entertainment
* Business/Entrepreneurship
* Community Service
* Financial Services
* Government/Public Affairs
* Legal
* Medical/Health Care
* Real Estate
* Technology/Sciences
* Youth/Education

In addition to honoring young professionals, Austin Under 40 benefits two non-profit organizations- the Austin YMBL Sunshine Camps and The Young Women’s Alliance Foundation. The Sunshine Camps have worked with disadvantaged Austin youth for over 70 years providing them with the experiences to enrich and nourish their lives through summer, leadership and scholarship programs. The YWA Foundation provides scholarships to female students to assist with tuition for college; scholarships are awarded to women who have overcome challenges, exhibit strong moral character and make contributions to the community, particularly through participating in a leadership program through our partner organizations.
