This is how this blog began so many years ago: me posting cool events (most free; this one isn’t) in Austin because I felt like no one else knew what was going on. These days, I don’t feel very plugged-in to the restaurant scene, nor do I think I really want to start posting events as my main content again… however, this is my (completely, intentionally, non-monetized) blog and I’ll post if I want to …
… because this beer dinner sounds really freakin’ delish, it’s cheap af, and it’s hosted at a restaurant started by some Rice alum, featuring one of my favorite classic Austin beers (Fireman’s #4) …
The Just-Revealed Menu
Course One: Fireman’s #4 paired with Tortellini in broth
Course Two: Hans Pils paired with Bruschetta | roasted fennel, hearts of palm, creme fraiche, fennel frond
Course Three: Real Heavy Scotch Ale paired with Calzone | beer braised venison, truffled black-eyed pea puree, mustardo
Course Four: Benedictum (barrel-aged sour brown ale with cherries) paired with Fish and Chips | beer-battered cod, Fontina polenta fries, cherry gastrique
Course Five: Coffee Porter paired with Dolci | coffee porter zabaione, chocolate covered espresso beans
I mean. Each of the beers sound awesome including a sour(!!), the courses are all happy meat-friendly including venison calzone(!!!), and tickets are only $50 per person.
