Compliments. What anyone wants out of their outfits is compliments.
I LOVE to shop, but have been trying hard to pare down my closet and not spend money, two goals that are NOT in line with a shopping habit.
And yet, I’ve never even tried Rent the Runway Unlimited, or any of the brand-specific monthly rental services that are popping up (Banana Republic and Anthro/Free People come to mind). So I can’t explain why, when under-the-radar Armoire Style popped up on my IG, I just HAD to try it.
Except I can: the brands. They have legit brands that I want to wear, most of which are just out of reach for my (full-price anyway) shopping (think Rag & Bone, Halston Heritage, Joie or Black Halo). They have cool brands I’m less familiar with—mostly in cashmere—and every denim brand you can shop at Nordstrom.
It also may have to do with my winter wardrobe, which is admittedly lacking. Like, what did I wear when I lived in Aspen? It appears I own only two sweaters, a host of yoga pants, and some great boots. So seasonally, getting to try on a bunch of sweaters, pants, blazers, and—uh, because NYE 2020 is rapidly approaching—party dresses, is particularly appealing.
I am impressed. Sold, even. Rented?
As mentioned, their selection is on point. Their shipping is exceptionally fast (usually two days!). And they let you pick out new clothes, and ship them, before the other shipment has been returned, which means you’re never out of rented fashions. It also means that when something doesn’t fit right, which for me is at least 50% of the time, there’s no loss—just pick new stuff and get it quick.
Back to the compliments. Here’s me in a gorgeous Derek Lam 10 Crosby blazer that got TONS. At $595, it’s a bit out of budget to buy but getting to rock it makes me feel pretty fabulous.
Enter code GIVE25 at checkout to try your first month for $25 (make sure to use this link so you get the discount + I get $75 towards my next month—keep a sista in fashion!).
There’s still time for NYE outfits!
