In the interest of looking flawless like a faux celeb should, I am constantly chasing the perfect face makeup.
The packaging is pretty basic.
For a clean beauty lover, mineral makeups are a go-to. In the past, though, I’ve chosen to go more traditional, using Paula’s Choice or Urban Decay because I don’t care for the texture. However, when Advanced Mineral Makeup founder Annie Mayo reached out to me personally (so flattering!), of course I had to try. Sometimes I know I’m enjoying using something, but I really get validation when one of my friends is like, “daaaaaang that stuff is awesome what is it where do I buy it?” This happened when I was staying with a friend in Aspen and she borrowed my AMM Pressed Powder without telling me and loved it so much that she has to ‘fess up at dinner because she needs to know where to get it (advancedmineralmakeup.com is the answer to that one).
“It’s so light, but has great coverage,” she says, as I nod, smiling. Duh. I wouldn’t be toting it around on vacation if it wasn’t good—and multi-purpose (you definitely don’t need makeup or foundation under it). You’ll pick your shade using the celeb(obviously)-skin-tone chart below—I’m an Angelina and a Tay Tay. My powder is Angelina but liquid foundation is Creme Brulee. I like the foundation, and it’s definitely full-coverage—fuller coverage than I generally like to wear, though I LOVE how it ends up looking in photos. For me it’s not a daily, but I do really like it. The powder and foundation are $44 each.
