I hit a breaking point today and thank god for yin yoga at BFree.
I’m ambitious and a high performer, a leader and someone who can thrive under pressure.
But those characteristics are when I am in a state of on.
I am truly, deeply an introvert. I need time by myself, I need time doing nothing (lawn care, watching shows, wandering/walking, straightening up, puttering, aimlessly shopping Home Goods), I need time to journal and art to express myself to myself alone. I need to be off.
I have not had that time.
So now I am grateful for the gift of yoga, of solo time, of being in a place in life where I can claim what I need.
What kept me so on? Many things I’m grateful for:
- Last Colorado night chilling with my Bromance and eating the best fried chicken sandwich I’ve had since the one at the place that we won’t name 😉
- Taxi, bus, train, plane to home
- Home in time for a fantasy football draft
- Immediate Cowboy Pool time
- Takeout Kome
- Bufalina happy hour!
- Nali’s tie-leash because I didn’t bring hers
- Wine with my parents and they got to meet someone
- Ubered for my dotted-line-boss and shared a great dinner
- Second fantasy football draft … my teams look oddly similar
- Partner happy hour that turned ridiculous, but we will forever be bonded
- I got Donned
- This is when you suggest Donn’s Depot as a “chill bar” where you won’t get to rowdy
- … and then have to bike to pick up your truck the next morning
- But you met a new novelist friend
- and got invited to your dotted-line-boss’s summer house in New Hampshire
- so #worthit?
- Daily phone calls
- Getting back into L3 volleyball
- Olive & June wander drink
- AVIARY pre-birthday dinner was everything I ever wanted out of Aviary and my new favorite wine guy Alex.
- Regymen … still loving that group fitness vibe.
- Book club <3
This weekend should be jam packed too, so I’m off to … be off.
