As it turns out, I spend a lot of time in them, though not usually quite as much as I have trying to get out of Aspen in a blizzard or back into Aspen during a really windy day… where I end up driving with a family of four from New York from Denver to Aspen. There are still awesome people out there!
So my day yesterday looked like this:
Sleep at midnight.
Wake up at 4:30.
Long lines at Austin airport … who the hell takes 6:15am flights?? Lots of businessmen (and very few women).
Arrive in Denver at 7:30am. Eat mixed nuts and cheese.
8:15 flight is cancelled due to crew. Latte with Lavazza coffee, so good. Eat mixed nuts and cheese. 10:10 flight is cancelled due to high winds in Aspen. 12:15 flight is cancelled due to high winds in Aspen. Eat mixed nuts and cheese.
1pm: Family of four from New York takes me to Snowmass, where I take a skiers’ bus to Aspen. Eat mixed nuts and cheese.
4:45pm: arrive at my apartment. Exhausted. Realize I have been up for 13 hours (time change) and have only eaten mixed nuts and cheese.
Moral of the story? Thank god I had mixed nuts and cheese, because with the flight craziness there was no time to buy food in the airport. I’ve carried on lots of types of paleo/primal food, it isn’t hard! So just be prepared 🙂
Also, I rocked my Reebok EasyTones AND Fila Toning pants all day yesterday … how embarrassing/awesome!
