I almost tweeted a link to this article about AOC sharing beauty tips but believe my reaction is more nuanced than a tweet can contain.
- How badass is it that a young freshman senator is now collectively known by her initials just a few short months after her election?
- How badass is it that she continuously and conscientiously juxtaposes “fluff” with “serious” stuff throughout her work, personal life, social media presence? Multitudes are so hot right now.
- How badass is it that I don’t agree with many—nay probably most—of her policies but I can still respect what she’s doing for the political institution?
- How badass is it that, in fact, this is how our government is supposed to work?! Respect, understanding, opposing viewpoints are all supposed to be a part of political discourse.
