But, like, how could I not? They are, without exaggeration, the absolute fucking best. The best! The easiest, the loving-est, the funniest. The most fun to ski with, the easiest to travel with, the cheapest to eat with (HOW WAS MY FOOD FOR THE ENTIRE WEEKEND $27?!), the homiest to hang out with, the smartest to share struggles with, the absolute tops to laugh with.
AND THIS ONE.
I can laugh now at my calling her from my bed in the singles bunk house and hearing her yell MAAAAATT TAKE THE KIDS before rushing out the door, into the guest house, and up the ladder to my loft for mo(u)rning hugs. She shares her kids (and husband) with me; she is a work wife I’ve never worked with (to the extent of sending a Zoom link to practice a big presentation while I was at the airport); she laughs at, with, and for me while simultaneously kicking me in the pants. She believes in me even when I don’t, she trusts me even when I make questionable decisions, she replays conversations for me since she apparently has a better ‘off’ button than I do. She will simultaneously love and think this post is ridiculous because she religiously reads this blog.
I am so happy. So grateful. So fulfilled by these deep, loving, easy friendships.
As for my family sans ‘r’, my dad’s book that I edited is out today! Pick up a copy on Amazon. I took the cover photo too 😉
This work week has been HELL. Fun hell. Corporate chess. Learning. Achieving. Doing. Listening. But I am so grateful here for the same, to be fulfilled by the team, work, and company.
As for this ICE COLD FREEZING SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN BECAUSE TEXANS DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING IN THE SNOW weekend ahead? I am super excited for that too, because I love the cold and I love to hunker down. Hot pool though?
