Some of y’all may remember when I tore my hamstring and all the emotional analysis that went with it. Well, for whatever reason, it’s resurfaced (physically, because lots of yoga, emotionally, because I have no idea). But the good news is that I have some great resources for torn hamstring, crazy-scar-tissue-in-the-high-hamstring rehab, even if it’s four years post-injury.
-
- My favorite routine: SmashWerx hammy rehab
- Recommended by Dr. Bill:
- Pilates. Surprising to me too, but after a pilates class, my hamstring hurts the least it will hurt all week (between lifting, yoga, and playing volleyball, basketball, and/or football). Not sure if it’s the leg isolated exercises, the bridges, the overall focus on the tilt of the pelvis, or some combination of all of that.
- Weed cream. I love it.
Last resort? Still contemplating PRP (with diagnostic ultrasound) to clear out the scar tissue holding down the hamstring.
