I show you this results board because today it was essential to my strategy. You see, Nick, in the green marker above my name, is one of the trainers at Roaring Fork CrossFit and he finished 13.5 rounds, so my only goal in this workout was to beat him.
Pre WOD
Handstand Practice
… apparently handstands are on everyone’s minds … can’t wait til I can hold my freestanding longer than two seconds! 😉
WOD
As many rounds as possible in 15 minutes:
10 Push press (95#/65#)
10 Kettlebell swings (24kg/16kg)
My score: 14!
Post WOD
Tabata pullups
My score: 3
Having the goal in mind to beat Nick kept me accountable for every single minute of this workout. It was 15 minutes long, if I hoped to beat Nick I had to complete a round a minute with a teeny bit of room built in for rest. The swings were no problem–love the breathing out at the top and bottom trick!–and the push presses were light, although of course they got heavy by the end. It was all about consistency and pace.
Now I will return to lying down, as typing is particularly painful on my SORE shoulders.
